The Society was organized at a banquet held at the Cliff Towers Hotel in Oak Cliff.
Clubs formed: Choral [Mr. Hecker], Philothespic [moderator M. P. Kammer, SJ], Science [includes Radio club], Sodality [formed by Fr. James Buckley, SJ]

J.H.S. Science Academy presents the first entertainment of the year. Harry Wren, with the aid of John Morley, demonstrates general principles of airplane control. The evening also included the film "Parachute for Safety."
The first student retreat begins for three days led by Frs. Cassidy and Druhan, S.J.

Twelfth Night is performed in the Jesuit auditorium. One Shakespearean play continued to be presented each year for decades.

“The esteemed sophomores of Jesuit High contrived and executed a successful and very illustrious dance in the Jesuit Auditorium. Doug Deffari again demonstrated, with the assistance of Betty Domino, the essence of Jitterbugging ability to the tune of a sizzling recording. Of the dance as a whole, nothing but good can be said and we might add that the sophomores are to be commended for their generous donation of part of the proceeds of the dance to the seniors to assist in the building of their lounge.”

The Radio Club builds a tesla coil; to illustrate principles of electronics and radio transmission.
54-55 Yearbook
Two debate teams take 1st and 2nd places in a tournament among Texas and Louisiana Catholic high schools. The winning team was WM. Hodges and Claiborne Johnson. Johnson was judged the best speaker.
The Last Roundup will cost between $3 and $4.

Fr. Kammer establishes the Student Council, moving the student leadership from the National Honor Society.
